The Mynt way of thinking

Socialable Spaces
With ever increasing demand on our lives, families seek ways to encourage a more sociable environment at home. Cooking has changed along with our lifestyle, and the homes central gathering space has changed along with it. Although we still refer to this room as the kitchen we deliver much more than this word implies. Mynt kitchens are best described as living spaces in which you cook. Much of our current work involves adapting homes to meet the desire for light and creating open plan living environments that unit social, practical functions and the outdoors in a multi functional hub.

Connect with Nature
We want people to be in their kitchens, by promoting sociability and a relaxed lifestyle; we help our clients feel happy. We establish a sweet spot a perching point that enables you to have views over the table, landscape, entrance or fireplace while preparing a meal. Seeing the sunset while you cook is a luxury in itself. This might be combined with a raised food bar or leaning platform, so that the company comes to you while you work. Eye contact with anyone else in the kitchen leas to easy informal conversation, and a happy cook brings in delicious meals and a warm atmosphere in every sense.
The outdoor space of the garden is often viewed as the room adjacent to the kitchen. In many projects we begin by strengthening the link between the kitchen and the garden, a natural light and outdoor view relax the brain and sets one body clock to the natural rhythm of the day. Adding a terrace for al fresco dining helps the garden become an extension of the kitchen.

Green thinking
Sustainable kitchens aren’t just about energy saving appliances and green sourced materials. We believe it is green to use creativity in making a place that people love being in and which will last for years. Durability and longevity are a major part of sustainability. By ignoring fads, we remove the need for replacement as it goes out of fashion.
Architecture
As experts in spatial planning and ergonomics, we make the most of the space that you have and even find more than you think you had. We can usually find space by either recycling unnecessary corridors inside or by looking at the capacity of the garden for absorbing an extension. We also look at how the kitchen functions in the rest of the house. In addition we also work through select architectural partners who can handle any element of your project from the simple extension to an entire house.
Craftmanship
Design can be simultaneously a functional piece of furniture and a work of art. Furniture can be thought of as sculpture while painting can add atmosphere, texture and colour to a space. Our method is to create a collection of furniture and visual elements that work together as a serenade of objects. Simple cabinets can provide a backdrop to richer pieces, while you might see an island more like a sculpture than a conventional rectangle box. We believe this perspective incorporates what is missing from many new kitchens.
Interior decoration
Making a kitchen feel homey and reflect its owner in an art that we think is vital to the successful design. In addition to working directly for the clients, we collaborate with their own professional decorators and interior designers. Capturing mood is a subtle skill. We keep architectural features where possible, incorporating objects and paintings into the design. Choosing opposing or complimentary textures, styles and shapes on different items of furniture, as well as utilising hand painted colours, gives us flexibility to enhance the atmosphere. Lighting control systems assist with mood settings in the evening.
Body
Real homes are full of character and personality. An electric mix of well used objects with some things that mended, patched or picked along the way tell the stories of the people who live there. We plan our luxury kitchens to take the rough (withe) the smooth and create personal, custom spaces to live in.
Human beings come in different shapes and sizes but kitchen manufactures generally build to standard. At Mynt we take measurements of key elements such as eye level, elbow height and reach, this is then used to inform the height of worktops dedicated to key tasks, depths and heights of storage cabinets and position potentially hazardous appliances like ovens and grills, all to create a custom , luxury kitchen.
